Fremdsprachenkenntnisse werden von Studenten und späteren Akademikern und Akademikerinnen besonderem Maße vorausgesetzt. Und zu Recht, denn in der Regel werden in den angestrebten Berufsfeldern gehobene Positionen zum Ziel gesetzt. Daher wird jeder zukünftige Arbeitgeber darauf achten, dass seine Führungskräfte sich auch in zumindest einer Fremdsprache fließend und sprachlich korrekt ausdrücken kann. Da der Lernprozess der tägliche Alltag im Studentenleben ist, können wir mit Studenten auch in kürzerer Zeit schnellere Lernfortschritte erreichen.

4. ein sicheres, selbstbewusstes Auftreten in der fremden Sprache
Da wir wissen, daß Studenten immer „knapp bei Kasse“ sind, sind die Kurse komprimiert u.A. mit Hilfe von accelerated/blended learning. Diese Kurse sind so kostengünstig wie möglich. Dafür erwarten wir aktive Mitarbeit.

ISE
Are you an ISE student or want to become an ISE student at the University of Duisburg-Essen?
We will help you to fulfil the language requirements in English and German and improve your language skills in both languages in an efficient and time-effective way.
For ISE students the entry level of both English and German is the A2 Level of the Common European Framework.
0 – A2
For all of you who need to start with German from a beginner level 0 - A2 we offer intensive seminars of 240 teaching units. (1 teaching unit = 45 minutes)
With this entry level you can register and already start your studies. Of course, you will still need to improve your skills to be able to follow all lectures and communicate with your German fellow students.
A2 – B2 and/or B2 – C1
Once you have started your studies the university will ask you to take action and work on your knowledge of both languages. The level to achieve is the C1 Level in English and German which is required before you can register for your final thesis.
For students who

• are willing to work
we have developed a special program to increase your level from A2 to C1 in just 2 semesters.
Each course ends with an exam to prove that you have reached the equivalent level (B2 or C1).

Including: Final exam, blended learning/e-learning
Minimum: 15 students
1 teaching unit = 45 minutes

Should you fail the final exam you will have the option to take the exam a second time within a period of 4 months against a fee of € 50,00.
